The new version of this historic Chicago attraction opened in 1991 next to the old Comiskey Park. United Center. For professional basketball and hockey, the Chicago Bulls and NHL's Blackhawks play at the United Center. The United Center is a tourist stop if only to view the life-sized bronze statue teams or photos of Bull’s superstar Michael Jordan. Hockey and basketball begin in the fall and playoff games extend in to the spring. Since the 1930's, the Chicago Bears has played world-class football at the newly-renovated Soldier Field, now home of the Bears and the League Soccer team Chicago Fire. The Bears season opens the first week of September and continues through December. Chicago Fire plays at Soldier Field beginning in April, and the season extends through the MLS Cup in November.
